Conformity assessment – SVHC-List
On June 2007 the EU-chemicals regulation REACH (Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals) came into force, which is i.e. supposed to regulate the approval and use of particularly alarming substances (SVHC, Substances of Very High Concern). First of all, substances with especially dangerous properties are identified and added to the SVHC-candidate list, which is published by the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA). This list contains more than 190 substances and is being updated twice a year.
Manufacturers and importers of chemicals, preparations and products are subjected to the obligation to inform about the safe use, if their products include substances from the SVHC-candidate list with a content that is larger than 0,1 % weight by weight (0,1% [w/w]). In this case on request within 45 days they are required to inform the consumers about safe use.
Within the framework of REACH we offer:
- crushing of components (for instance circuit boards)
- SVHC-screening analysis
- SVHC-quantification of detected substances
